Default 1999 power windows - slow

I just picked up my first H1! 1999 wagon. So far, I'm finding the truck as mechanically sound as I hoped it was when I made the deal!

I found one small issue I do not have a good answer for though. The power windows on all four windows seem super slow. The windows seem to fit super tight in their channels and I think it is that tightness that is the root cause of the slowness. I think the power window motors are fine. Is this a common issue? I'd love to get some ideas for a fix. If there is not a reasonable $ fix I can live with it. However, I do hope someone else has dealt with this and has some ideas!

Thanks! And, I am excited to get after things with the baddest truck on the planet! I havea lot learn and I think this forum will be an outstanding resource!

Mine are slow too. 2000 H1 open top. I actually had to have my daughter work the switch while I pulled the window up the other day. It seems to get much worse the colder it is is outside. I'm near Cleveland, so it has been colder than a well diggers **** lately. I'll try spraying mine and then get back. I was planning on using silicone rather than WD40. Any thoughts?

Even though there are a few gremlins ( a better term might be "ticks") with the truck, I love it. I jusst can't bring myself to take it offroad. The underside shows no sign of ever being off pavement. I know, "WUSS"!!!!

I think WD40 would be better because it would not only lubricate but clean and clear out, and why own an h1 if you wont take it offroad, look up Painted Rock OHV, its in ohio, Ive never been though.

I agree with zach... also WD40 will help get rid of the enemy(water) as silicon will just hold it in place.
Also dont need to wheel it hard to offroad it... can always take it easy and still offroad it... go up and down hills(nothing too serious) hit some wider trails to keep the clear coat happy... alot of offroading can still be done in your H1 that will keep your underside and paintjob in perfect order... But the only problem I could ever see is offroading can become addictive and you might end up being more and more aggressive.... but hey you only live once!

Injun started off in dirty parking lots and look at him now. A short while later he is making killer videos of his exploits in rock and mud. I agree. Start on the easy stuff and work your way up to whatever you are comfortable with. There are a lot of guys out there that are much more talented than me off road but I have a great time out there doing what I do. It is a whole different way to enjoy the truck.
