I have 1992 6.2 non turbo diesel hummer h1 which I am rebuilding totally. I had engine remanufactured and changed injection pump. Instead of factory Stanadyne DB2829-4979 10154615, I installed brand new military Stanadyne DB2829-4879 10149634 wich I converted to 12 volts from 24 volts. Now the question is will it work? and WHICH INJECTORS SHOULD I USE? Factory injectors are LONG BODY which I believe open at 129 or so BARR? ANY ADVICE ON THE MATTER OR AM i MISSING SOMETHING?

 

I would use stock injectors. The mechanical part of the IP is the same i think. The only differance is the voltage.

 

Ian Ward! thanks for reply. however I have engine out of the car and I want to make sure I put the right stuff inn, before putting it back. From what I read from forum is that unless you match pump, injectors and lines perfectly, you will have smoke and power issues. Also that plastic thing where wires connect is busted and I dont know even how its called or what type I need so I can order it from ebay or other place. I live in Europe and because international delivery takes very long time and is expensive, I have to be perfectly sure before I order something.

The military injection pump (IP), the GM IP, and the civilian Hummer mechanical IP are all different. You need to use the correct part. If you use the wrong one it will fit but won't function properly.
