12 V Air Compressor Reviews..????
#2
I bought this model years ago and it is a capable compressor. I have it hard wired to an electrical PTO on the front of the truck. This unit draws near 40 amps
I easily takes my 33" back to 38 LB from 15 PSI in very little time
Q Industries SuperFlow Twin Cylinder Air Compressor 12 Volt, 120 PSI, Model MV89G | 2 - 9 CFM| Northern Tool + Equipment

2 nice, inexpensive portable units are discussed in this thread (from a Jeep forum I've been on for many years): Harbor Freight vs Costco Portable 12v Air Compressor - In Depth Review w/ Pictures - JeepForum.com
I used the Harbor Freight compressor for a couple years, which I had mounted under the hood of my TJ. Held up and worked well. It is very, very similar in design and construction to one of the VIAir pumps which sells for 300 bucks.
Both of the pumps outlined in that thread would serve your needs very well.
The unit wfturner linked above does have the quick battery terminals as well.

Yes, I am sorry, but when I stated hard wire, in reality, I use a dedicated 50 AMP plug on the front of my truck, to plug in the compressor, which has same plug.
It is very portable and comes with soft case too.
I did my home work and almost all small units used the cigarette lighter which can only run
smaller amp draw units.
Those work fine, but you wait a long time to air up a 33" tire times four.
Xrl8n is correct in the the name for the connectors "quick battery terminals"
and they can handle high amp draws
Under the hood compressor is way cool
Good luck
The connectors I am speaking about . . .

Bought Q Industries MV50 SuperFlow High-Volume 12-Volt Air Compressor from Amazon for a decent price and seems to work well. Just my opinion, if a 12V compressor has a cigarette lighter plug it probably doesn't have enough capacity to do the job. This compressor has gator clamps to hook directly to the battery.

The air compressor from SLIME (walmart bought) is pretty good for a cigarette lighter plug model. Much better than the other's that moved over to the wife's Liberty. It still isn't as nice as having your own air compressor though.
