08 H3 Alpha chirps
Hi,
My new H3 Alpha "chirps".
When the engine is cold, there is a very noticeable "chirp" coming from somewhere around the engine. The chirping gets faster and slower as the revs of the engine rises and falls. It literally sounds like a bird chirping, lol!
I popped the hood tonight and listened a bit. As best I can tell, the chirping comes from somewhere near the front of the engine. When the engine gets warm, the chirping disappears completely, or almost completely.
Has anyone had similar symptoms on their H3's? (did a few searches but didn't find anything)
...love the H3! I am going up to Death Valley next weekend with a group of coworkers.I can't wait!!!!

Mine started to chirp and then get louder and more squealing. It was the power steering pump pulley alignment TSB. I believe the pulley needs to be pulled out .30. Had that done and now it's all fixed.
Hi everyone,
Sorry it took me so long to report back.
I took my H3 to the dealer to have the chirp fixed. They told me that they had found a very slight misalignment on the power steering pump pulley and that they had re-aligned it. The issue was completely gone for a while but came back with a vengance this morning.... it's now no longer a chirp, its more a continuous sound.
On top of that, the H3 now has developed a "groan" when I make left turns: As I turn left, the truck will lean slightly to the right. As this happens, I hear a clear "groan" from the passenger side front corner. I am not feeling anything abnormal in the steering wheel or pedals or anywhere else.
AND: The truck has developed a low, muted, clunk from the back end when I go over bumps. I checked the jack in the rear door, but it seems to be strapped in very nicely. The spare tire also seems to be bolted on very well.
I really hope these are just flukes. I am _really_ uneasy by the thought of a truck that develops noises so soon. I have about 1500 miles on the truck now.
