I have 2006 H3 5speed that I absolutely love. Call it my 3 ton Masserati.
Anyway Saturday I blew a head gasket and now need a new engine. I talked to my sales rep and he happened to say "06, that was the year with the head gasket problem...".
Anybody out there have any problems.

Just because you blew a head gasket you shouldn't need a new motor. How about just getting a new head gasket replacemnet.

 

This is the first I've heard of this, and why wouldn't it affect the 05's too!!

 

I have an 06 with 125,000 and my head gasket is doing it's job. I'd get a 2nd oppinion about the motor. Unless you ran it till it seized up, you should be able to fix the gasket and maybe the head it's self, certainly not the whole motor.

 

It was actually more that the head gasket. Pistons, cracked block. If you do something might as well do it big!
It's been one of those weeks.
Hummer is involved now. I believe they are going to help.
