Unhappy '06 H3 black touchscreen stereo/nav display

My display has gone black but the modes/buttons/sounds all still function without being able to see them. I have tried the grease, unplugging and plugging in the connectors, making sure the ribbons are seated tightly...is there anything else I haven't tried. I have taken it in for repair and have been told the LED light needs to be replaced? Does that make sense to anyone?

You have already tried all the obvious things with no success. Having the backlight burn out sounds reasonable to me. I have replaced them before in my laptop display. Good Luck.

Default H3 Nav Display light

Does anyone know if its possible to change/replace the display light in the Navigation/radio? I've check Youtube but haven't had any luck finding a video for it. I've contacted numerous car/truck audio places and can't find anyone that fixes the H3 factory stereo, they just replaces them.

I had the same problem as you with our '09, I just gave up and had a Reman unit installed.

Did you ever figure out a fix? I am convinced that the backlight is out on mine too.
