And Trump is not self-serving? The presidency is his playground, it seems. I'm glad we have judges that don't follow party lines. They are to follow the law and make good judgments regardless of their political affiliation. They are to serve the people, not the president.

Yes, Donald Trump receives a presidential paycheck, as the U.S. Constitution mandates that the President receive compensation for their services.
((((((> However, as he did during his first term (2017–2021), Trump has pledged to donate his $400,000 annual salary during his second term, which began in January 2025.

What timing - my pastor is in Romans 2:11 ("For God does not show favoritism.") and he mentions Leviticus 19:15 "Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly." I'm sure that is what we all want, especially we are the one needing justice.

I'm sick of the political ads where all the Republican candidates can do is say "I'm with Trump" and "Trump loves me". I want a Republican, not a Trumper, and someone that can think for themselves and actually adhere to conservative values in all things to do what is right and good, not what serves the president's ego (whoever that person is).

Indeed, I'd love to see the White House "rise above the hatred, the fear, and the evil". That would be really nice!
Sure, he's getting a salary as he should, but how else is he and his buds benefiting from the Office?

In any case, my hope is not in any man. America stands by the grace of God or falls by His judgment.

And ... so what? How does that help us? How does that make him a better president? It only make him even further removed from the reality of most Americans.

President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Is Now the Law

The White House
July 4, 2025

Today, President Donald J. Trump officially signed The One Big Beautiful Bill into law — a once-in-a-generation piece of legislation that makes good on his campaign promises and puts America First.

Here’s what this means for everyday Americans:
  • The largest tax cut in history for middle- and working-class Americans
  • Bigger paychecks of $10,000+ more in annual take-home pay for families.
  • NO tax on Tips.
  • NO tax on Overtime.
  • NO tax on Social Security.
  • A $12.5 billion modernization of our air traffic control system.
  • Permanently increasing the Child Tax Credit for more than 40 million families.
  • Permanently securing our borders by finishing the border wall and hiring thousands of new ICE officers and Border Patrol agents.
  • Driving down energy costs with a massive expansion of domestic oil and gas production capacity.
  • A tax deduction on Made in America auto loan interest.
  • Protection for two million family farms from punitive double taxation.
  • Creating Trump Accounts for every American newborn.
  • Restoring fiscal sanity by cutting $1.5 trillion in spending.
  • Strengthening Medicaid by eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse and blocking illegal immigrants from receiving Medicaid.
  • Funding the Golden Dome missile defense system to confront 21st century threats.
  • Modernizing our military to ensure it has the resources to be a ready, lethal fighting force after four years of Biden-era weakness.

Trump says "a whole civilization will die tonight" if no deal is reached with Iran

Washington — President Trump said "a whole civilization will die tonight" unless a deal is reached with Iran by his Tuesday night deadline.

"I don't want that to happen, but it probably will," the president said in a post on Truth Social Tuesday morning.

Mr. Trump has given Iran until 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday to agree to a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, or else he says he will order attacks to destroy all of the country's power plants and bridges. He said on Monday at the White House that "the entire country could be taken out in one night, and that night might be tomorrow night."

In his post Tuesday morning, the president also suggested that something "revolutionarily wonderful can happen," arguing that "different, smarter, and less radicalized minds" are now leading Iran.

"We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World," Mr. Trump said.

The deadline comes amid a renewed diplomatic push. Mr. Trump told reporters Monday that Iran had made a "significant" proposal, which he called "not good enough" but a "very significant step." He also said he believes the Iranians are negotiating "in good faith."

He called Iran an "active, willing participant" in ongoing negotiations.

Nothing special or unexpected about that. That would happen any time in this situation - that's what markets do. Or, you could call it creating a market dip so the bounce-back sounds good. The markets are flat over the past 6 months.
