You get offered a 2007 H3 with 163K on it ...it looks pretty nice on the outside and inside ...apparently it only had a single female owner ... pricing is acceptable ...what do you? WHAT DO YOU DO? ;-]#
where did it live all its life? Have YOU done your research on what to look for when purchasing an H3?
You don't state if you have test driven it for at least an hour, scanned for codes (stored also).
Did you inspect the frame for damage/rust/etc.
Did you inspect all of the steering for repairs/up keep/etc.?
Repair records since it is a "one owner"?

Thanks for your reply TAINTER ...but like I said, it is being offered to me, so not had test driven it yet or closely looked at it; I had been shown some pics and videos from a friend of mine -who also suggested I take it to a mechanic and have it checked, but again, this post is my first step to the "research" you mentioned ...what should I be looking for or avoid, so I was hoping to get some pointers with this post ...vehicle has been living in South Florida, apparently since first bought. Thanks again for your input
Still considering this truck ...is a 2007 H3 Base model with the 5 cyl version engine and nearly 164K miles ...took it for a quick spin around the block since uninsured and expired registration, and it really feels nice ...engine cranked up nicely, very steady and sounds good, but it looks like it needs a pretty good wash ...tires look fine, so it seems there's no need to urgently go and buy a new set ...overall looks nice on the outside for an 18 yr old, but it does have some paint discoloration due to sun exposure, something that I don't care much... headlights are cloudy though, so it might be something to take care sooner or later ...inside it looks pretty nice, no signs of anything weird or bad odor, considering it's an 18 yr old vehicle ...ac may need to be topped off ...no warning lights came up, but will need to have a closer look into it ... owner, who is someone I know, said it had gone off a couple of times but had cleared off, and insisted he is opened for me to have it checked thoroughly. He bought it from the original lady owner a year or so ago, but haven't used it much since. Myself having been a 2002 Discovery S2 SE owner for over 8 yrs - it went up on flames a year ago, I know my way around gas guzzlers and money pits, so don't mind the gas mileage on this truck, but hopefully this truck would not have a money pit as deep as the Disco did.
I added the vin to my Carfax account and I can see consistent services done since 2018, as well as rod replacements, transfer seal replacement, brake services, thermostat and oxygen sensor replacement, water pump replacement, but no other major things can be found there, so who knows. Attached a pic of the engine, for what is worth. Hoping this update would shed some more light. Thanks
Still looking into this 2007 Hummer H3 Base with nearly 163400 miles on. Apparently original female owner resided in So. Florida but occasionally drove it up to Ontario during ownership (2007-2023) a few times. Second owner (a friend) hasn't driven it much since he bought it (3K miles approx).
When I first drove it around the block it felt and sound pretty good, and has been parked at my workplace since, but it gets cranked up every now and then for good measure. I cannot drive it because tag expired and has no insurance, but I cranked it up today and ran good, but saw that engine light was on, so waiting for code reader to arrive to see what's up since I don't want to risk driving it to a shop. Until then, see listed below most services done by original owner, perhaps reading into them I can get some insight from you guys, it'll be greatly appreciated. My friend is willing to accept me paying $150 a month if I really want it -he is in no rush to sell it, nor needs the money.
Hi Guys, I'll greatly appreciate any input regarding the following codes, thanks in advance!
