I purchased my used H3 with approx. 151k miles from a dealer about 5 days ago. I have two errors. ABS fault, STAB SYS failed service...and low tire SERV TPM. I am taking it to the dealership tomorrow as I know nothing about vehicles and I want to get it overlooked so I can plan my maintenance. I believe I saw two outstanding recalls which do need to be addressed with it. I am really excited that I was able to get my Hummer as it was the first thing on my Bucket List for myself. Now, I want to maintain it and drive it as long as possible.
Anyone have an idea if I put the needed repairs in, regular maintenance, how many miles I can get out of her?
Dealer for recalls only!
Get a code reader with ABS or hit your local auto parts store adn have them read the codes and report what they are here.
We can help you do it cheaper and you will learn a thing or 2 also.
SERV TPM is an easy one. TPM Sensors have a 10 year battery life expectancy, your truck is older than that. Time for new TPMS, I would suggest AC Delco and rockauto.com as where to get them. I would NOT have any dealership do that unless you like overpaying for everything.
Dealers are the last place I would take any vehicle that is out of warranty. Find a reputable local repair facility.
As for the ABS fault & StabiliTrack system, that could be several different things. I would start with checking the ABS wheel sensor wiring and connectors.
