Default New H3 owner spare tire cover etc

Hey guys great to be here. just bought an H3 2008 alpha today. Some initial questions

1) where can I get an original hard cover for the spare tire?
2) where can I get an original gas tank cap?
3) any suggestions for winter tires?
4) anything I should fix or replace right away?

any other advice for a new owner would be appreciated. Gonna change out radio for Bluetooth radio and add a back up camera. Anything else I should do or look out for?

Welcome to HF.

Personally, I can't stand those hard spare tire covers, any spare tire covers for that matter. Just more crap in the way when getting to the spare matters. I proudly display my OEM Hummer 7 spoke wheel with Mickey Thompson MTZ off the back.

You are online, go to any GM parts dealer and look it up. RockAuto is a great place for basic OEM parts, just like Ebay.

I don't do winter tires either, the H3 is a capable off road vehicle, any good quality made in the USA AT tires ought to do. Somebody might have some good ideas here for you.

Whoops............ I forgot your #4. Boy would I get some ribbing for that. Does your new to you H3 Alpha still have the crappy azzed OEM Battery Terminal Connectors? If so, hack them off and replace with a quality aftermarket set like Stingers or your favorite brand. Number ONE first mod to do to every H3/H3T. The OEM connectors are trash, junk, always fail (not IF, just when), and cause ton of electrical Gremlins.

Give a search a wheel on this topic, you will see what I am referring to.

Swap EVERY fluid before you start on any modifications on a new to you used vehicle.
-Engine Oil (Filer too)
-Trans Fluid (Drop the pan and change the filter too. )
-Transfer-case Fluid
-Coolant
-Brake Fluid
-Power Steering Fluid
*While draining the fluids look at the condition and check for particulates in each. This will tell you what you need to concentrate on replacing sooner rather than later.
You do not know what was changed if ever.

True! Thought that was a given.
