Just recently bought my very first Hummer and thought joining the forums would be a great place to learn more.
I bought an 06 Base Model with Adventure Package. It has 172,500 miles and is extremely clean. I purchased it with ALL its service records which is one of the reasons I bought it. (I mean every oil change, new transmission, etc. I have receipts for EVERYTHING.) It DID have the dreaded "transfer case shift fork" issue when I bought it but i have an excellent mechanic that took care of it all quickly. (The part was only $18 for the updated metal part and I paid about $500 to have all the work done) Other than that, it's very clean and well taken care of.
I've owned and "wheeled" in a few other vehicles. I've owned a 2016 JKU and a couple WJs that I had set up as Overlanders. I'm looking forward to setting the H3 up as an Overlander for me and my German Shepherd so we can go explore. (I searched long for an Adventure Package so I could have the locking differential......I know the later models had front and rear lockers but the deal on this one was pretty good considering the current market)
It's not my daily, just a weekend / adventure / toy.
Anyway, I'm in Palm Bay, Florida. Fairly new to Florida and don't have any real friends here or know any good spots for adventures yet. If you're local, I'm always up for meeting new people and finding new places.
You have an Adventure (the Base pkg is just that, basic, not much). The Adventure model has the locking rear diff and low range T Case. I always liked the Green H3s.
