Default Hi new to this group

Looking at buying a 07 H3 with 137k for 5500.00.. what do I need to keep and eye out for? I’m new to these and not sure what I need to watch out for when buying.

chassis rot, water on floor from sun roof damaging the Body control module making issues that cause all sorts of gremlins, fuel smell from driver side rear passenger area usually rotted fuel pump, radiator / transmission. when the radiator fails the fluids tend to mix ruining the transmission. they also have there engine issues. clogged VVT solenoid dirty MAF sensor and dirty throttle bodies. a newer trending anomaly is bad relays in the fuse box or corrosion of the fuse box.

welcome to hummer forum

Get a CARFAX report = It will show you the number of owners, if the H3 has had any accidents and maintenance done to it.

skydiver, you spew a lot of funny and mostly incorrect sheet. Maybe you landed on your head once... or twice?

Only thing a carfax will tell you for sure is the # of owners. This is because you must register ownership through the state which is ALWAYS reported.
Accidents are NOT ALWAYS REPORTED by repair shops unless there was an insurance claim. Heck some of those are not even on the reports. If repaired by the individual owner and painted by a body shop that will also NOT be on a carfax report.
Maintenance is only reported by a slim # of independent shops and most dealerships.

Unfortunately you can't always count on even that being accurate with Carfax. Here's the situation I'm in:

Owner #1: Vehicle shipped new from GM to Saginaw, Mi. Hummer dealership.

Owner #2: Vehicle traded to Clinton Twp., Mi. Hummer dealership for my purchase (lease) because they didn’t have one with the color/options I required.

Owner #3: Myself (2 year lease) with the intent of purchasing outright at the end of the lease.

Owner #4: Vehicle turned in to Madison Hts., Mi. Chevrolet dealership for myself to purchase outright when lease expired because they offered me a better deal than the Clinton Twp. Hummer dealership.

Owner #5: My wife had to purchase in her name from the Chevrolet dealership since they could not resell to me at a ‘deal’ price lower than lease contract stipulated.

Owner #6: Title transferred from my wife to myself after purchase from the Madison Hts., Mi. Chevrolet dealership.

As you can see, Car Fax would show that this vehicle has had (6) owners when in reality it has had only (1), being myself.

CarFax can be helpful..... that is about it. It is not to be treated as the decision maker because it is not always accurate and can be played by unscrupulous sellers.

No substitute for careful inspection.

My Carfax report was for a ONE owner H3
= Carfax had 4 pages of service records from the day it was sold new-Until I purchased it from the original owner!!
***Not all Carfax reports are the same.
