Default Hello all

Hello, forum, new H2 owner here. Getting a Hummer has been my dream truck for more years than I care to recall. H1s are out of my price range, but I managed to finally get a 2005 H2 just last week.

I'm a federally licensed firearms manufacturer and I make 1911 handguns. This truck is going to be used to help promote that. So I will be decking it out with a few little things to help draw attention, which I will be sharing here. Besides making handguns, I'm also a full-time law student working towards my Juris Doctorate. I have no plans to become an attorney. I'm retired and I like it that way. Instead, I'm using what I'm learning to help with my writing. I'm a writer for the firearms, ammunition, and tactical gear industry. It sure does seem more busy being retired. As I mentioned above, the Hummer was my dream truck. I did my time with fast cars and even drove a 2004 Vett for a while as I was selling it for my mom. OK, it took a year, but I did sell it. I wasn't all that impressed. Now I'm older and slower, so an H2 it is.

Congrats on the new truck! That's the year I was born. Personally, I like the H2's more than the H1s. They are much nicer on the road and very comfortable but also don't slack in the off-road department. I can assure you that they are great for advertising. My dad had an 03 that he wrapped to advertise his real estate business. Certainly attracted a lot of attention. We have had two more of them since then, and I was lucky enough to have an 08 handed down for my daily. That is one clean truck right there. I don't see a single scratch on it. Also the 03-07s are very reliable and will go 300k miles without major issues. I'm a fan of guns as well, I love to go shooting on the weekends. The H2 makes a great gun-hauler too. Again, beautiful truck, great color, pristine condition. Love it!

Thanks. So far I'm really happy. I looked at one last year that had road tires on it, it drove really smooth, looked great inside. But I felt, why put road times on a big beefy truck, that's like putting 36" tires on a Prius. I looked at another one last year that had a 6" lift kit and 36" tires and a full camo wrap. Looked amazing. Nearly killed myself getting in and out. It was also beat to hell and back inside. Several things inside didn't work, buttons were missing or hanging out, everything was scratched or worse. They wanted $19k. I understand that the lift kit isn't cheap, and neither were the tires and wheels, but that's not going to offset the disaster the inside was.

So far the only problem I've had is it didn't fit in the garage. I had to remove the cross pieces of the luggage rack. A minor problem that I hope to rectify once we move to our new house

Plan to have high doors at our new house, even if I have to add a panel myself.

On another note.

The new exhaust tip for the H2 arrived today.

Yep, it spins too.

I kind of want to mount an LP nozzle inside and find a way to ignite it so it looks like it's actually firing. Hmm, wonder if law enforcement would have a problem with that?
