Smile Happy to join the H3 Crowd!

Hi All,
I recently joined the H3 crowd in purchasing a 2009 H3 Alpha in February with 39,300 miles. Super happy with it so far, especially the V8 and how it changes the vehicle so much over the inline 5 cylinder. No shade being thrown to those who love their I-5's
I did get burned after only 300 miles when the heater core decided to start leaking coolant - $2,000 later I had the core replaced with a Genuine GM part plus coolant and brake fluid flushes, and of course fresh refrigerant since they need to remove the entire instrument panel to remove the heater core.
Here some pics after a 2-step paint correction and Adams Ceramic coating.

Who diagnosed your heater core leak?
My '07 heater core is still OEM factory installed back in '06, currently 93,766miles, still doesn't leak!

I did, and Chevrolet dealer confirmed. Hard to dispute coolant coming out of the HVAC drain tube as well as on passenger footwell carpet area.

Wow what a nice rig. I've always loved that Boulder Grey color.
Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome and kind words! The color is actually Graphite Metallic and I agree the H3 looks good in this hue.

Painful for sure, but worth it in the long run. That was a job that was beyond my skill and patience level
