Ok, I have the front end disassembled. New upper control arms are installed.
Front shocks are out and the Bilsteins are waiting to be installed.
CV's have new boots and grease. New diff seals are installed
Front Differential bushing is out, and waiting to install the new one. The old one wasn't too bad, but it did have some cracks and needed to be replaced
The torsion bar is out on the drivers side (still fighting the passenger side).
Lower Ball joint on drivers side had started to wear.
New lower ball joints are installed on drivers side (passenger side is out, waiting to install new one).
Question:
Should I go ahead and replace the lower control arm bushing that go to the frame?
Looks like I have to take the front axle out (or least move it out of the way).
I guess I use the ball joint tool to remove the bushings that are on the truck.
Any suggestions?
For reference, the Hummer as about 85K miles on the clock.
My '07 Uppers & lowers are OEM untouched virgins. When the day comes the CA's show wear on any point. I'm not going to mess with 17+yr old CA's. I will just remove, throw to the curb, and replace. 2023 control arms are cheap, look here>>>>2006-2010 Hummer H3+T Control Arm - Front, Driver and Passenger Side, Lower
@hummerz Thanks for the information. I should have been more specific.
The bushing in question is the one on the frame.
Did find one post where someone had replaced the frame bushings.
Was wondering if anyone else has done the frame bushing replacement and if they had any words of wisdom.
There's some confusion. The OP seems to be only concerned about the control arms, then he says "Front Differential bushing is out ...", so I think that is why Happy was asking about the axle bushings. The OP clarified that he was not concerned with the axle bushing.
Regarding the bushings Happy referred to, yes, the ebay bushing kit seems to be the same thing.
