Mr. Red Roc'T Metamorphosis
#11
Had purchased the horn long while back and misplaced it when cleaning out our garage/attic/storage unit. I started with the garage and attic then thinned out our storage unit and moved a lot of stuff from one to the other and it's somewhere in a box, lol. I keep waiting to come accross it when picking up/dropping off holiday decoration boxes, other junk, lol, but no luck yet. Guess I'll just have to start excavating.
Just got the air horns installed about a week ago. Man, there is no room for horns on the T, or at least mine anyway, lol. Thanks to Jesse though I found a spot. I now refer to it as the R21-H3TAH mod, lol. I originally had a set of Klein air horns, but due their size they where sent back, lol. Definately no room except out in the open on the roof rack for those bloated bad boys . Again, thanks to ideas from Jesse's install, Horn Blasters was contacted and one of their horn sets was sent and installed under the bed. WOW, they are LOUD, lol. Only used for emergancy situations, non driving tourists, deer, saying "Hi' to trains and boats etc. I'm not the young, get a thrill out of scaring someone off their bike or sidewalk type, lol. Don't want a ticket either. With the scarcity of the T in my area (everywhere for that matter, lol) and how mine is set up/looks, just hitting them everywhere and at locals wouldn't be too smart. Which kind of sucks, lol. Hard not to think about it when passing someone doing something dumb or just looking like the deserve it, especially being spring break here at the moment, lol. The way my luck runs sometimes I'll probably blow at someone, scare them causing a wreck and involving me.

Got'cha! Simple install just run the wires in parallel to the existing horn wires. Even if you get them backword you can just switch them. The horn won't sound but the compressor will spin. Then you know you have them backword.

Day 14: Mr. Red Roc'T had his new shoes installed.
Before:
After:
Mr. "T" is @ 24" now without the bumper, winch and Rock Rails, Mr. Red Roc'T next to him. "T" is @ 11 1/4 to the lowest point of the front diff skid plate. Red Roc'T is @ 12.5" with the half shafts almost paralell. I'm thinking maybe a 1/4" to a 1/2" more (@22 3/4" now)of T-bar cranking once the bumper, winch and Rock Rails are installed.
Lots-O-Stuff coming this weekend. Stay tuned!

Nope, most of our stuff is from past builds and items I have taken off the other 2 to prep them for sale. Only "new" items are the tires & body lift.
Accessories don't gain you any $ in the used HUMMER market. Actually they can hurt the sale most often, unless you find that right person who likes everything you have done. But we all know how rare that is!

Day 15 (well night 15): Had 1 heck of a week @ work so I got home @ 8am and slept until 3pm. Needed that!
Picked up our BA bumper and RR Sliders tonight from the Media Blaster Guy. Picked up Duplicolor Bed Armor Kit and some spray cans. Rolling the Sliderz and spraying the BA. We will see how it holds up. I went with the Duplicolor kit and spray becaus I am a DIY guy and it is the only one I found that could be "touched up" with the original product without removing/sanding the existing coating. The product will bond to itself even after it is cured. A bonus for Rock Rails and Front Bumpers!
Prep: cleaned everything with brake cleaner and wiped down with lint free rags. According to all that I have read about the Duplicolor Bed Armor no etching primer is needed (plus the media blasting etched it for me).
I know you all want pix so there they are (YES, my garage is TRASHED, I have been trying to work on 3 HUMMERs, 2 R&R for sale and the build of Mr. Red Roc'T):
Media Blasted BA
Duplicolor Kit
BA First Coat
BA Second Coat
RR Sliders First Coat (will have to wait until tomorrow fo the 2nd):
Nurse bars may come off tomorrow if I wake up early and recoat the sliders and they dry in time!!!
