well sorry I mean used. yep the engine does infact run, did create a massive smokescreen from the oil but its running, smooth too. I did turn the A/C on and it jumped up in RPM a little and ran a little rough and stayed there even after the A/C was switched off. not bad for a 9000$ truck. getting 2k for the engine and possibly more for the trans could fund a 6 speed swap if possible if it isn't outrageously expensive

 

V8 swaps usually start around $10K. You want a V8, buy and Alpha skip the swap dream and drama.

 

I'd rather not drop 30k+ on a alpha, I already have a V8 laying around so I don't see the swap being over 8k which is still a fraction of the price of a alpha

 

Who in there right mind spends $30K on an Alpha? Looking at dreamer listings is not the same as actual sale price from motivated sellers. You can find them at $20-22K and still over pay.

20-22k? where? even a 150k mile Adventure or luxury is around 18k, let alone one in good condition and 0 rust

 

I've come across a new issue recently with this truck, I can use my aftermarket keyless entry fine. I noticed that when I put the key in and turn it on there will be power on the cluster for a split second and then shut off. the only way to fix this is to disconnect the battery and reconnect it. This also seems to reset my aftermarket radios configuration and trigger the horn. I have no clue what could even cause this, I know passlock light is set red but I'm not sure if that'd be causing this.

 

Doc, where are these H3T Alphas for $20-22K that are not beat to sheetz?

 

They won't be Off Roads, and they will have some miles. A Black 09 just sold last month in Detroit off a lot, cloth seats, 128K miles on 265 tires. The asking was $19,900. It is gone. I have a buddy goes to the Detroit auctions for his dealership, they still come across the block on occasion. If the call comes in and my wallet is fat at that moment, we shall see.

When people look online they mistake asking price, (dreamers can dream, but they rarely sell for what dreamers ask) for what people actually pay. Listing an Alpha T for sale at too high price sitting on/off the market 24 months pretty much demonstrates that.

 

idk, I haven't done much research but even non alphas are selling for around 18-20k. hell I came across one in person randomly being sold for 22k on my trip in Missouri
