I went a tiny bit larger on my rim tire combo for Summer. 295/65/18 w 18x9.5 wheels. I decided to use the same tread as my Winter wheels. I decided I wheel mostly on logging roads and I really don't encounter too much mud. These tires have worked really well for me. I added some pics to the photo gallery as well. I am new to these boards, so hopefully this works...

 

Looks good. Those are Duratracs right? That seems to be one of the more popular tire choices on this forum, well that and Mickey Thompson MTZs.

 

Thanks! Yes the are Goodyear Duratracs. I had the MTR Kevlars before for summer, but they were on a 16" rim and half worn so I sold them. I run the Duratracs for their superior ice/snow capability in the winter. After using them in the winter and wheeling with them on my rocky logging roads, I am sold. Certainly the best tire I have owned. Great life, quiet and a bit more aggressive than most all terrains. I went with the 18x9.5" wide rim for a bit better handling on the freeway.

 

Is that an ARB front bumper? How do you like it?

 

Yes and I love it. I put a sticker over the ARB plastic logo. It has great access holes through the top of the bumper for wiring lights etc, or turning the winch handle. While driving I barely see the top of the bumper guard and the corners stick up just enough to see how close I am to other rides in a parking lot. After three years the finish has absolutely zero rust on any welds. I got a special bracket to mount the license plate that pops onto the winch roller plate and keeps the air vent clear. Cheers!

 

Does the winch controls have to be mounted there or can it be hidden somewhere? I see it there in all of the pictures.

 

I suspect that you could stuff them somewhere behind the bumper. The controls do have a female plug in the top of them for my "remote control" cord to plug into. So that would have to be fairly accessible.

 

Nice! Looks good and I'm digging that brush guard/bumper. Are you lifted? It looks like it but I really can't tell.

 

Thanks! It is only leveled with Dynastar front end kit. I really need some high tech shocks to flatten it out on the freeway curves. It is my daily driver, so I don't want to go to hard core yet.
