H3T Project, Need Help
First off, I'd like to say thank you to all you provide input, and or aid me in this endeavor.
I am very new to all of this, so please bare with me when it comes to learning and understanding.
My goal here is to get ideas, input, and maybe even make some cool connections along the way.
I recently bought an 09 Hummer H3T base model. The truck was used as a farm truck up in Kansas and to my surprise was in excellent condition. Especially the frame!
-for those who wonder, It had 155k miles on it, and I managed to talk the guy down to almost 12k
This is a truck I have always wanted, and now I finally own one, I am looking up ways to "fix it up" and am super excited about the whole process.
I do understand that money is a factor, and even different stages of this project must start or happen before others.
My goal by the end of this year is to officially start restoring, and or modifying/ improving areas on the truck that could be made "better".
I'd like to completely tear it down to the frame, and build it back with the mindset of "long lasting, durability, and functionality" in mind.
A good example of this mindset would be my plans with the frame: For this I would like to repair, bulk up where needed, then acid dip, Galvanize, then a final coating to make this part almost rust-proof.
I've even thought about changing out the front and rear diffs with Dana's that are "Stronger" and more "durable" than the factories.
But before all these ideas can happen, I need to figure out the engine, and drive train.
This is where I will let the community here decide. Ls V8 upgrade or EV motor
Plans if I go V8
-Source from Tahoe
-would like it to make 450HP after upgrades
-would like better transmission, this 4 speed sucks
-would like better transfer case
Weight front to rear would be problem..already rear slips out on turns.
Plans if I go EV Motor
-Tesla S motor connected directly to transfer case
-RIght setup can easily output 450hp+,, Ive been looking into it.
-would need better Transfer case for the torque
-Stronger axles
weight problem would be somewhat fixed. Put batteries under bed and some in engine bay.
Pro would be less maintenance, less parts moving, and less worry "AFTER figuring out and installing ev system"
I know there are lots of questions, opinions, and even thoughts which I welcome all !!!!!!
Again, I do have a flexible budget "I know ev conversion is pricey"
I know some people may find it appalling that I want to go ev, but again, going Ev does have its advantages.
Also range, I'm fine with it dropping from 300miles to 150miles.

If you wanted a V8, they come that way and you would already be done with your "swap" if you bought an Alpha.
Looks like your plan is to spend a whole bunch of money, swapping diffs is swapping axles, torsion bar A Arms and $10K by itself before your motor project even begins.
Welcome to HF and Good Luck.
