Winch install H3 Alpha
11 Attachment(s)
I'm a cheapskate, and I can fab.... here's my install of a winch on my H3
well, tonight's the night to wench... err winch "stock" with a push bar I put on Attachment 12688 scouting locations Attachment 12689 hmm.... right behind that license plate looks good Attachment 12690 remove air duct Attachment 12691 of course you have to take the entire bumper off to remove the air duct Attachment 12692 another JC Whitney "fits this application" Attachment 12693 time to start planning some more Attachment 12693 this looks promising Attachment 12695 note, there's always a note that H3 Alphas need to use the more pedestrian other H3 brush guard.... now I know why even with the cut, it's still too far forward Attachment 12696 cut the lower part of the tabs that hold the tow hooks Attachment 12697 benefit of doing it there is that's a great point of reference for the front where I finished tonight Attachment 12698 Tomorrow I'll weld the brackets to the plate, then drill holes in the frame to mount the wench.. er winch.... the snatch is in the back, two of them  |

so it's finally where it needs to be
Attachment 12683 DAMMIT Attachment 12684 a bit more progress Attachment 12685 dang, if I hadn't told about the drilling the hole in the condensor, it'd look like I knew I was doing Attachment 12686 eventually, I'll hinge the license plate... but for now, I just moved it up Attachment 12687 |

Daytime front view pic please??

Will be doing the exact same instal in about 3 weeks time (will be on leave from work), have already purchased the winch and the same plate that you have there.
So this is a great help and assurance that it will fit, Was looking at my H3 yesterday, and the front number plate will have to be moved, I will worry about that once winch is fitted. Any photos of the mods to the winch plate, have you cut and welded it?? I can cut and tack it together, but would take it to a metal fabricating place to have the final welding done |

Thanks for the thread super! It really helped me decide to do a similar winch install last spring.
