Hummer H3 For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.

What's the best MPG you can get in a Hummer H3?

Put some 255 or 265/75r16 HT tires on with the stock or other lightweight rims.
Get a full tune up and fluid change using synthetic oils.
Send your PCM off for programming.
Stay at 60 or less on the hwy and monitor your driving habits.
At that point turn in your man card and buy a Smartcar.

Well, if you want to buy a Hummer and worry about gas mileage and the environment I suppose you aren't planning on wheeling.

I love the environment so much, I try to cover my H3 with it whenever I can.

its hard to figure but my first h3 had 265's and i hit 20 on trips, now with 285 i get 18??

i may try 265's at tire buy time but it would take some figuring to see if it actually worked huh?

'09 H3 Adventure... I get about 16-17 in mixed town/highway driving, but get a couple more MPG during pure highway cruising. I got about 20 MPG a few weeks ago on a trip to Boston and back where I was averaging about 75 MPH. One thing I love about this truck is that it seems to get it's best mileage at a much higher MPH average than my '97 4-Runner did. I loved that truck, but this one is so much more fun, and WAY more confidence inspiring.
