Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
Does anyone know the name of this part? Its right above the manifold on a 2006 3.5L Vortec. I have an oil drip coming from where its bolted to the engine and it looks like it needs it's gasket replaced.
Thanks in advance for any insight/help -Albert
That's where the secondary air injection check valve is mounted on my 2009 3.7. I would assume that's a block off plate. The hole that it covers should be connected to the exhaust ports. Not sure how oil could be dripping from there. Did you recently clean up that area? It's way more likely that the valve cover gasket just above it is where the leak would originate.
Yep I did recently clean it. Absolutely agree that if its an exhaust port of air injection valve that oil shouldn't be dripping from it- and its more likely to be the valve cover gasket above it. My oil level hasn't moved that much so I guess I'm happy about that. I'll keep a closer eye on dripping from the valve cover
Getting both the Valve cover gasket and the block off plate gasket changed right now. $300.
Thats probably a bit high, even though its the cheapest place around. I'm in the Bay Area where all prices are jacked up.
Expect this will solve it. 112K miles, haven't had any real problems except normal wear and tear.
