Transfer case - took more than capacity
Hi all, just got a new to me 2007 H3 and am doing all the things... oils, diff's, transfer case and am now terribly confused. I have a VIN that requires the speed sensor filling, BUT there are no metal plates on the case that is says I should have. To make it more confusing I have put 2qts of fluid in and still not coming out of the normal fill hole... Did I overfill it or should I still fill to the hole and add more to the speed sensor hole?
2qts minus worst case 1/8th qt leaking on me from my fill bag....
what the heck, should I just call it good with mostly 2qts in over the 1.6q capacity and not worry about going to the fill hole?

I'll add a bit more info as I cannot figure out if I underfilled, overfilled, or am crazy... The Transmission in this was replaced 5k miles ago which should have nothing to do with this. There is a sticker with 2006 date on the T'fer case so believe its original. I did look at my mess and fill bag and there is for sure 1.75qt in the case using the normal fill plug.
I was on mostly level ground. Front was down maybe and inch from rear tires.
Just drove it and cycled through all 4x4 modes including low and nothing sounded bad or anything.
Please help my sanity!

By the time GM figured out the fill level issue, a whole bunch of H3s went out the door, and you do not know what prior owners did or did not do with the tag, so not having the fill instruction tag at this point is an indication of nothing. Additionally, BW built a ton of T Cases that may have went into vehicles, or on replacement parts shelves, so unless you 'KNOW" it it original, you are aware what happens when you assume something????
If you can measure, on level ground put in 1.6Qts and call it good.
