Update: Bummed out by the idea of pulling the transfer case or exploring other drive train issues when I am not entirely sure what the mystery clunk is (or worse going to the dealer) I decided to take one last look underneath and put a wrench on the big bolt that goes through the bushing on my scorpworks crossmember to check movement and although it was still quite snug it somehow had loosened a bit, I tightened it back up now the clunk is totally gone, feel like a dope but got a sweet new front driveshaft!
