I like the look of those 315's, I still ride the stock 285's myself

I went from the stock 285 duelers to 315 Nitto TrailGrapplers. As far as the size upgrade you will definitely notice the drop in power resulting in a loss in mpg. I went from 19mpg to 15.5mpg average with the tire upgrade. I recently had my pcm tuned by a local shop FPT and the truck has come back to life. My mpg are up to 18.5 and the truck feels much lighter with better throttle response. As far as the tire is consered the 285 duelers were good and offered no rubbing or hitting in stock form. The 315s due rub just a little bit on the stabilizer bar but only when wheel is turn completely. I have had mine on for a couple of months and have only rubbed a few times. A far as the Nitto TrailGrappler is concerned it is a great tire. It is a mud tire with an all terrain tire in one. The noise increase between the duellers and the TrailGraps was minimal. In cab noise is at a very comfortable and tolerable rate that doesnt disturb any of my passangers. Good luck on your search

I gotta mess with you on that Democratic fuzzy math theory. What two tires did you compare???
Is there that much less height in a 305? 1 1/4?
With the two I used it was more like 3/4 inch with a 285 and 315 dividing the circumference by two.

I drove to PCM's NC shop since they were only 80 miles from me. if you look at thier website, they have options for mail order.

I wanted to go 315, but since I will only be going off-road a few times a year I could notjustify the cost of 5 tires and the decreased mpg's for daily driving.

I have held off I'm still making my mind up I really don't want to go into fixing rear ends and trannys and the little motor turning the big tires I have went through that before on my last truck and it was awful the 315 is a big heavier tire but this hummer is my dd and I really like it and I plan on getting more hummers because I love this one so much and I want it to last my h3 has 107k miles on it now and I don't really want to tear anything up but then again I want to offroad with it because that's what it was built for so I'm leaning toward a 305 tire any opinions
