Target Price: 2008 Alpha, 75k Miles
I have a family member looking to move on from his Hummer H3, but I'm admittedly out of touch with the used market. I've done as much research as I can with autotrader, cars.com, and a few wholesale tools (worthless for a car this old...) - but curious what everyone's thoughts are on a sale price:
2008 H3 Alpha
Black/Black
Nav / Backup Camera
Sunroof
72k Miles
Central TX kept

It has low miles, but you said nothing about if it has the Adventure Pkg low T Case and Rear Locker. If not, it's just another low miles Alpha. Condition, condition and condition.
Ask $16,500 and see where it goes.

Maybe I missed one, but it would be the lowest mileage Alpha on the market and the only black/black in that mileage range.
Great condition and color combo - it was a relatively rare find when I sold it to him in 2009.
I wouldn't pay more than $16,500 just because it has a useless outdated NAV radio with the big fuggly rearview mirror backup camera screen.
I bought my 09 Alpha Off Road in Carbon Flash Metallic out of Arkansas Jan 2019 for less than that. It had a couple more miles and the interior looked like a rotund lady and her kids spilled coffee, ice cream you name it on the floors. Nothing a couple hours cleaning with the seats pulled could not take care of.
Alpha Off Roads are far harder to find, but the low miles on this one in question should fetch a decent price.

At that price it won't, the seller will die with it.
Their kids will sell it.
I see dreamers asking ridiculous amounts even for clean I5 H3s, and by asking a pile of $$ there is always a chance some knucklehead with fat pockets stumbles on to it. Reality is they sell for what somebody will pay for it, and not what a seller dreams about getting thinking it is some super special rare collectable.

For instance, if it has any extra skid equipment down under for the Adventurer or of any other kind of an off road package?
I already know that ours is a 2008 ALPHA X3x, but for reading other things that lead me to suspect that it has other packages, as well.
For instance, it has red brake calipers and not so sure that the H3x's included that or not.
Thanks in advance for any help towards determining what kind of beast we might have here.
Goes something like this.
2008:
Alpha is an H3 with the LH8 5.3L motor and an Alpha Badge on the back door and head rests. In 2008 most came with leather and the rear view camera with monitor that popped out to the side of that funky rear view mirror when in reverse. Came with 32" tires and the 4:1 T Case (NO Rear Locker), on either seven double spoke painted wheels, or seven spoke chrome wheels.
Alpha Lux was more options like leather heated seats if not already, the Monsoon Stereo w/wo Nav., sunroof, chrome appearance package and maybe the rear tire cover case thing and seven spoke chrome wheels.
Alpha Off Road (add what was called the Adventure package for older I5 H3s) includes 2.6:1 Low Range T Case, Rear Locking Diff, and GM Shocks with thicker pistons and 33" Tires with seven double spoke wheels, many incorporated parts of the Lux pkg.
Some dealers added the GM rock rails and or Under Carriage Protection, some came with either or both as factory options. Lots of them came with Nurf/step Bars or dealers added them.
2009:
Same deal except lower production and now the Alpha Off Road came with Front and Rear Lockers.
2010:
Same deal as 09s, except lower production and it had the LH9 5.3L motor with flex fuel injectors and VVT, (which makes it a PITA to mod because it requires a VVT delete and/or specific VVT limiter and cam kit).
Most all of the above came with the factory Trailer Pkg = Hitch and Plug for trailer lights.
I did not spend time describing the Championship Edition of any H3X with the 18" chrome rimz.
None of the H3s had red (or any other color than off black) painted brake calipers.
