Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
I do a few road trips in my H3, and due to accomodation cost I often sleep in my H3, I have actually made a YouTube Video about it a while back and I will link the video below for anyone interested. (If you watch the video please leave a comment to say you came from here) I also have some other H3 videos in my playlist.
Now to my question, has a one fitted out a H3 for sleeping in?? If you have I would be keen to see some photos of your set up.
I am thinking of building a drawer system for the back with a fold out top that will fold out once the rear seats are folded down with a foam mattress on top to give a level sleeping surface, with pull out drawers underneath to keep recovery gear, drone, clothes camera equipment etc.
I removed the rear seats many years ago. I use air comfort air mattresses with built in pump (quick inflate, deflate for minimal storage), and will not work with built in drawers, underneath, since there's only 36" vertical space, and the mattress inflated, is 17".
Google search for ideas and make sure whatever you build, there's enough room for you to fit, and rotate during your sleep.
when sleeping out in my h3. The driver seat is comfy enough for my need.
just rock it all the way back. recline the seat back. sweet dreams baby.
no muss no fuss.
Can't do that, way way to uncomfortable for my liking, plus I hate for people to be staring at me while I sleep. I want the car to look like it's just parked there with no one in it.

Love that set up, unfortunately I need the rear seats for my kids and daily driving duties, I only sleep in it when I travel alone on road trips.
This has given me some great ideas, I will hopefully get something going in the next few weeks before I have to road trip into the city again.
Definitely will be stealth camping in Sydney, no way I will pay their crazy prices just to have a bed, and have my H3 parked unattended in some back alley.
