I have been there on the 4th of July Saturday. WOW, what a crowd, but this place can handle it. You should see the ratical dune machines, buggies and all that. They do the dune voucher on Hollidays and weekends. It's like a reservation. You go to the dune voucher center (where else??) starting Thursday afternoon, and get a voucher for what evertime you want to go in to the dune area. Once they give out so many 9:am, 9:30 am.....they stop. the purpose is to stagger people coming in. When I was a kid, with the chevy 4x4 PU, we used to party and sleep in a line like a mile long waiting to get in the next morning. Now the voucher system keeps the line in reasonable, and it moves pretty fast. NO MORE PARTY LINE. Boo who. Really, they got it to a science. If you EVER set a date. POST it, we could have hummers crawling all over the place. Stay at the Silver Sands Resort....Close to the action w/ swimming pool. Several other Hotels/Motels, and cottages. JUST DO IT. Most excellent big time fun, I kid you not.

I'm sold. After the 4th trip, I'll definitely try to put something together for this place, even if it's just my family. My sister's husband is one of those guys who thinks his Nissan Armada can go off-roading.................yeah, I know, and I already tried to explain the difference between a family SUV and an Off-Roading one. Maybe I'll invite them to the dunes just to purposely make a fool of him

Too bad you can't make it to the Badlands with us. Here is a link just to check out the site:

The rivers are fun. Just make sure you don't try to drive over big slabs of concrete, uh, yeah, you might get stuck...............
