Does it matter if the security light is flashing or staying on solid to need a relearn?

 

Are you referring to the padlock light on the dash? If it is flashing, your truck should not start. If it comes on steady when you are driving, itindicates a problem with the system.

If it is flashing when you start the truck, and it stays on after 5 seconds, something is not working correctly.

If it is flashing when you try to start the truck, and it does not start, wait 10 minutes and try again. If after three attempts it does not start it will need to be serviced.

 

Thanks brothapig, I finally figured out it wasnt an issue to begin with. I got my BCM back from having the odometer reset and was told to do the relearn but security light was not flashing so finally started.
