Local garage installed new sensor but I didn't realize it requires programming before I can learn the thing.

Can any local tire shop program this sensor now / anything more I should know?

I have no idea what your local garage installed, but out of the box ACDelco TPMS need no programming, the truck just needs to be put into programming mode to see the new sensors. Read the Owner's Manual, you can do it yourself.

You can also do it with one of those 9V Battery TPMS programmers.

Garage installed Schrader brand, which I handed them.

Wish I’d known about AC Delco, yeah I have a cheap square orange Amazon TOMS tool works great.
