Roof Rack Arm Keys
Hello,
My question has to do with the roof rack arm keys. I have a 2008 H3 and I guess the roof rack keys are among the obsolete parts that are no longer available. I understand there are key series specific to the H1, H2 and H3 models. I think the H3 has the "S" series keys numbered 1 to 5. Is that correct? If not, does anyone know if they are available and where? I am probably going to buy the whole set because I don't know which number key I need, it's not stamped anywhere on the lock. Thanks for your help. I have found this forum to be very helpful and I am glad it is here.

I just had mine picked then recut by a locksmith. Took him less than 10 minutes and only charged me $10. The barrels had no marking and the shape he cut doesn't resemble the 1 thru 5 you can get on ebay. Might cost more but he had a guitar in his shop and I asked for a discount if I play him some music while he does the job ha.

Why not just move the roof cross rails?
No, you can sometimes smack the rails up and down the track, key or no key, they really do no grip as tight as they should.
If you want to simply remove them, a screw driver can easily break the key lock aluminum arm. They are not guarding Fort Knox.

True.. that is why I got a key made.. to add a washer to the cam and make them fit tighter.
