Hello all ! Name is Mike Sharpe, and new to the forum. Had a H2 a few years back for a week before it was stolen. Thief died in an accident in it running from the police two weeks later. I had bought another truck (Rubicon) in the meantime, and moved on. Last week, I spotted a mint 2007 H3 driving by a local exotic car dealer, stopped in, and wound up driving it home.

I hated the rake of the front end, so searched the cure. That how I wound up here. Jacked the front, 6 turns on the bolts, and now all four within 1/4" of level ride height. Good info, and glad to have found a place where such info is easily shared.

Will be adding 315/75/16 Kumho to stock 16" wheels next week. Looks like they should fit fine with just the level. Will be adding Jet Performance Stage 1 Module and an Airaid CAI in the next few weeks as well (do it to all my vehicles). I take pics of everything I do, before and after in case I screw up, the pics help me fix it. Will be glad to post or share pics with anyone interested.

Little too long winded now, so I'm gone, but thanks again for the useful info and look forward to being part of the community.

Hello and Welcome from MI. Congrats on the RETURN to HUMMER!

I would look into a PCM4less before you go with the Jet chip. The Jet chip just "fools" the PCM, while the PCM4less is a reprogramming of the PCM and TCM. Plus you will gain a lot more form the PCM4less tune!

Do a "search" here for PCM4less, tons of good info on them.

 

Im w/ MU, Mike, go w/ the pcmforless tune... the jet chip has had mixed reviews w/ the H3 owners but mostly negatives... and while the airaid CAIs are nice, you could also offset the price for some better tires, and go w/ the Air Doc intake.
... Look into the other tires that are available, the price will for the most part dictate quality... Are you looking for a M/T or A/T tire?

 

X2 on the AirDoc intake. Keeps everything sealed underhood and you can use just about any brand of filter that you like.

Appreciate the info guys. Will look into the pcmforless. I absolutely love the Kumho. Have had Mickey T's and liked them as well but twice as much money. The Nitto Trail Grapplers were toast in 15k miles being rotated and balanced every 3k, and the Toyos only made 20k before being useless. No offroading, only street. The Kumhos we had on the Rubicon made 55k miles before needing replaced. Could have gone more, but winter came and I didn't want to chance it. May not be the opinion of many, but the Kumhos are the best deal going on a great tire...

Looked under the hood today for the first time. Looks like simply replacint the stock cone with a K&N and leaving the cover off would be the equivilant of the Airraid CAI. Question though, what is the air line going downward from the filter housing that terminates on a round part with a wire connector attatched to it?? Cane get a good look from above or below, and dont know what the heck it is!!!

I strongly suggest NOT leaving the cover off of the airbox.
First you would be drawing in WARM engine compartment air all of the time. It's cooler air that makes the power and that comes into the airbox through the fender well when the cover is on.
Second the closed airbox prevents water from getting sucked in. One good puddle could be trouble without the cover on the airbox.

 

Welcome back to the fam!! As to the Kumho tires, we use them offen. There quality is great, they look very agressive and the cost is way less then most. Sounds like you are making some good choices. Have fun!
