I wanted a 5 spd transmission, and I wanted to use the stealthy little back-in-the-frame winch mount, so that meant I would have had to get the 5 cyl engine. Of course I got the lite weight nambi pambi front differential as a bonus.

I swear engineers all over the world are staying up late at night trying to come up with more ways to mess with me.

Try to get a championship edition it has front and rear lockers with the V8 and no horrible chrome.

What? I can see the maual trans dictating the I5 but the stealth winch mount would fit on either I5 or V8. They have the same room between the radiator and the bumper.

The 5 spd was important to me, and that would have been enough to go with the I5. However, the guy in Indiana (I think) who builds that cute little steel box that replaces the front bumper and holds the winch told me that his creation would not fit in the Alpha.

Then, I found this H3 on the dealer's lot, just about what I would have ordered, and the dealer dropped the price from $38M to $24M. It's perfest!

I don't type well, either. I meant to say, it's perfect!

This picture helped me out a lot. I'm deployed right now and my wife bought a 2008 H3 Alpha without me. When I called neither her nor the shop new if it had the Adventure package and from your picture I call tell that it does not. Looks like I get to buy some lockers when I get home.
