Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
Seems previous owner or a mechanic did some work and i guess cracked this hose a little and to keep it in place, use the zip tie. But it is still flimsy. Think this might be the random idling issue I am having? I have went thru most of the obvious checks and seems all is fine everywhere else.
Definitely ghetto.
Btw, the vacuum line has a lot of movement, hence the reason for the foam wrap, to prevent rattle. The map sensor is secured by a cover/retainer with 2 v-wing clips that snap into the mount. I can see the map sensor has been replaced, and a zip tie would be due to damage to the the retaining clips damaged during install? Appears to be a crack in the manifold housing + those wires to the map sensor look distorted.
Got ya a pic of mine(all oe):

Here is better pic of the wires.. and the "crack" is just a spray line that cleaned off some grime as I was hunting a vacuum leak. lol So, I guess whoever did this was just trying to hold up the hose so it didn't Flop about.
