Default Ported Throttle Body correlation with CEL codes and Limp mode

Hi guys,
I have an 06 H3 w/ Adventure Package.

So far I've done the following performance mods:
-Air Doc Intake finished with Airaid Open cold air intake box.

This week I am having the following completed:
-Header c/w cat.
-custom 2.5" exhaust straight to Magnaflow muffler and dual exhaust.
-PCM TUNE (on its way should arrive by end of week)

So, I've been thinking of putting in a PP throttle body from Supermodulation on ebay.

When I reached out to PCM to ask if they would need to change anything to accomadate for the potential new throttle body, they actually said that they noticed ported Throttle bodies seem to set off CEL codes and throwing the vehicle into the forsaken Limp Mode!

Any experience with that?

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks again.

Sounds like some great mods...

I would suggest if you don't already have one, get a OBD scanner to clear any cods you may encounter.

Thanks! I've been following and reading a lot of the posts by everyone over the last year and a bit.

I picked up my H3 in 2022 and I LOVE IT.

But damn I need some more ***** on it.

I got a scanner so hopefully it does the trick.

Any use or gain in swapping MAF to a JET one?

Email James at SuperModulation. He will call you back in a day or two. I have ran one of his PP TBs on my 07 for years with zero issues. Sold it. I also have one of his PP TBs on my 09 Alpha for 2 years with all the other performance mods and have zero issues. I have one of his SFan 4500 with digital controller Efan conversions as part of my performance mods, works perfectly.

I say this is a good way. James in a nerd, an electrical engineer guy. Grew up in MI and went to a HS that played mine in sports. We are about the same vintage, but I have a few years on him.

He knows his stuff. Before he does anything to any TB, he will test it to make sure it functions as it should, Then and only then will he work his modulation magic.

BTW, your open AirAid Box is costing you performance. We tested all that stuff, put a lid on it and collect the coolest air possible.

Forget the Jet MAF, your PCM Tune is taking care of all that the Jet could possibly cheat the system into thinking what is going on.

Thanks for the info Doc. Appreciate the knowledge!

I have been in contact with James, I believe, thru ebay. He did not have 3.5L engin throttle body on sale but when I msgd him, he responded right away saying he has one ready to ship.

I'm just waiting for him to put it up so I can process.

Thanks for the Airaid info! I will rig in a custom cover, or utilize the original box if that works.

Cheers
