P0717 code
Hello ,I really want to thank everyone for helping me getting this thing running again. I have a 2007 hummer h3 and I recently got p0717, shifting acting up. I looked up the code it’s the transmission input speed sensor, I found the right part at a local store. I made a research and some people said might be shorten or dirty because of the elements etc. I am trying to find it and I can’t see to find it. Online they say it’s in the passenger side next to the transmission put can’t find anything!! Can you help me find it or send me pics so I can check out?
thank you |

At the plug to the transmission, check for 12 volts on pin E Pink wire.
Ground on the pin V Light Blue. Verify pin K Brown/White wire is not open or shorted back to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Blue connector pin 23. If all the above is OK with everything plugged in, backprobe the Brown/White and check for square wave signal with the engine running. If no signal is present, then replace the input speed sensor. To replace the input speed sensor requires removal of the transmission and then removal of the front pump from the transmission assembly. Here's a pic of the harness inside: https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hum...71bc3657db.jpg |

Doubtful, but anything is possible, however you need to drop the pan to check(I have in the past found pinched wiring between the pan and housing causing an issue). In the meantime test the signal to the pins as I posted above.

It still points to the ISS, you NEED to check with multi meter, without the p0717 there is a TSB:

I’ll try that and let you know soon thank you

TCC PWM failure usually sets p1860 or p1870. Your codes point to a signal loss(wiring/connectors)

You started with P0717 ISS Failure(most likely shorted wiring inside the trans) after you pulled the connector to the trans and threw parts at it, you now have: P0976 Shift Solenoid B Control Circuit Low P0787 Shift/Timing Solenoid A Low P0973 Shift Solenoid A Control Circuit Low P2769 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Low P2764 Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Low Did you perform the 1st step in any electrical component replacement: Disconnect battery? Did you clear all codes and recheck? Did you make sure all connectors were clean and secure? At this point, my advice to you is to take it to a repair shop before you cause any more issues. |
if you left the battery connected those might just be stored codes from when you disconnected the parts. if you erase them and they come back then it has issues as Hummers mentioned.

https://f01.justanswer.com/heavy_che...44_P1860+2.pdf after hours of searching I found the wire harness under the transmission panel is pinched badly. I contacted the dealershiop they told me its this part number gm part number 24298347. but its like 230 bucks..and its on back order. any aftermarket harness I can find for cheaper? thanks |

Yes, and check the connectors since you caused more codes after you threw parts at it!

it might be better to just repair the one you have properly.

google the part number you posted. there are a bunch of online gm parts distributors that are selling it much cheaper then $230. GMwholesale has it listed for $141.83
|
Yes i I saw that but they don’t have a pic. I found transmission harness for 57 bucks aftermarket that have just like the pic hummerz posted. Everyone who have it cheaper for 137 or 141 is out of stock because it’s on back order

Call for more information on a replacement harness(note you have a 20pin connector): https://globaltransmissionparts.com/...-iss-24234121/ |

Any tech with proper knowledge knows you can repair a wiring harness. I would pull the pins on each end of the damaged wire, and install a new wire with new pins.

But that’s how the wire harness look like and found it way cheaper , can I replace that my self or does it require special tool or way? Also they mentioned they have to relearn it? |

You have a 20pin connector(you posted a picture above), the "57bucks" is a 13pin.. Call the number I posted above and make sure you get the proper connector or it's useless.
