Hello:

I recently purchased an 08 H3 Alpha.

I really like the vehicle but one thing that the GM engineers left out is an overhead console that fits between the 2 sun visors.

Has anyone figured out how to add an overhead console with say two map lights which are also lacking in the H3 and a sunglasses storage compartment. I have searched ebay and found a bunch of overhead consoles from other vehicles that have map lights and even a space for the sun roof switch but not sure ifone of these could be added and wired into the interior lighting system.

Any ideas or advice would be most appreciated.

I have the oversized sunroof so I wouldn't be able to add one, but I'm sure if you measured you could find one maybe from a denali/Yukon or even a S10 blazer to fit. Not sureif the contour is the same or not...

 

My base h3 has map lights. They are on the dome light. You will see two little buttons. An overhead console would be nice to hold my sunglasses though.

 

Yeah that was my thinking.

I need a place for my sunglasses. Thanks for the tip ion the map lights. I thought that they were for the back.

I am going to try my dealer and see if they can retro fit somehting form a chevy or gmc truck as these look like they might f.

I'll never understand why the GM engineers cannot be more forward thinking in their interior designs.

Too bad they never aks those of us who buy these vehicles what we think

Yes we all have the lightsin the middle, i think he wants them up next to the windshield

 

SOME PEOPLE REALLY DONT READ THESE POSTS BEFORE THEY WRITE BACK!!! HE WANTS AN OVERHEAD CON.... BMJ IS RIGHT CHECK TO SEE IF THE OTHER GM SUVS OR SOME LUX TRUCKS WILL FIT!

Found some GM overhead consoles on Ebay but not sure if any would fit

May just have to take the chance and try one
