Default oil light and constant warning chime

Hey all,

My 2007 H3 3.7l I5 began warning me about oil. The red oil light comes on along with a constant chime... while at idle. When I step on the gas, the light turns off.. doesn't seem to happen until driving for 30min. It was doing this before a new oil change on Fri. As i figured the old oil was thinned out. New oil didn't seem to have an effect. Could this be the oil pump going bad? Engine light jumped on today as well.

Replace oil pressure sending unit.
For the I5 it should be around $50 for an ACDelco replacement.
Item Number: 949 (for location purposes)

Thanks for the info. I dug up some old threads and it looks like there are 2 different ways to remove it:

Drop the skidplates and use a 27mm socket with long extension thru the wheel well

Or

Remove the air intake and access from above.

Which is the easier approach?

I replaced the oil pressure switch a few weeks ago as suggested and all was fine until today where I began getting the oil lamp and ding while idle at a stop sign or red light or parked facing down hill. Any idea what else it may be? Oil pump?

Check all wires and harnesses going to that sensor first.
