New A/C suction line bent H3 2007 3.7L 190K
Hello. I need advice about a bent A/C line. I replaced my A/C lines as well as the compressor, expansion valve and condenser. All parts are new GM/AcDelco. The problem I encountered is that the rubber part of the suction line (the line between the expansion valve and the compressor, part number 15856049) has a bent which can't be opened. I tried to bend the aluminum part of the line to straighten the curve but didn't help. The rubber hose is very rigid and I can't even squeeze or mold the bent part. I guess the A/C line has been sitting in the storage for many years and the rubber part has lost its softness or maybe the rubber hose was bent when placed in the storage and has been bent in the same spot for many years. The old hose had a smooth curve without any bent. My google search found the following solutions, and their pros and cons:
1- Replace with another new OEM A/C line (a new hose is likely as old as the one that I already bought).
2- Replace with a new aftermarket A/C line (cheaper, may not be as good as OEM).
3- Leave it alone (this is the low-pressure part of A/C and the hose is partially open and the Freon gas can still pass this part of the hose).
4- Use a heat gun to soften and mold this part of the hose (will this damage the rubber hose?).
I have attached photos.
I appreciate any advice.
