The fact that I'm taking it back to the dealer again next Monday for maybe the 10th +time or so makes me not even want to comment on this

Can you expand upon why it's going back to the dealer for the 10th time? Same problems or different problems?

Always different problems, usually minor, but this time, my half-shaft replacement part is bad and needs to be replaced. It's a problem alot of us have had with noise coming from the steering column. The replacement part for me made it worse, so I need it replaced again.

Honestly, I just have bad luck, but also have alot of miles on it. I have not had any engine or drivetrain problems at all though. It still runs like brand new, so I can't complain.

I can't understand why so many people are commenting on the horn?!?!? Yo do realize that it can bereplace in about 5 minutes by any $10 horn you find....one screw and one plug per horn...there are twoon the h3.

I agree. The horn is a piece of cake to install. I put a dual-tone horn on. It is twice as loud, and doesn't need any special wires. You just need to know how to do it

The horn doesn't really bother me that much, if the can't see that big *** thing coming at them what good is the horn going to do?
-Like I've said before, something, not sure what, needs to be done about the driver's leg room, not really bad just have issues with my left leg. Again, think I might just have too jumps on my knees.[:@]
-The back hatch need redone. Roll down window or split lift window and drop tailgate. Either would be better.
-Have to agree about the storage, I had to buy one of those "sticky pads" from auto zone for the dash board to put my phones on.

Someone mentioned the circulation w/o the A/C coming on, that's done in most cars now to prevent your A/C from discharging over the winter, just turn the temp switch to heat.

Ultimatly, I love my Hummer, will always have one, except the next one willhave the 5.3L in it. Neighbor just bought the FJ; he let me take it for a drive, wasn't impressed and couldn't wait to get back in my H3! Inside is uncomfortable, cheap looking and it didn't ride any better. Maybe it had something to do with the cracked frame

Thanks again for all of the replies. The purchase of an H3 would be a 180 degree change from my current car (BMW 330ci). I bought the car five years ago, and much in life has changed since then that warrant the change from a little coupe to something that I can actually stuff a few people and the dog in.

I too checked out the FJ, and was really turned off by the cheap interior.

It looks like the finalists for this next purchase are the H3 and the Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan. Both fall within our budget, and are of course polar opposities. My wife and I are going to test drive both this weekend, and hopefully make a decision. I've driven them both, and they are such different vehicles that I don't know how I'm going to end up making a decision!

I say go with the one that can't be mistaken for a Nissan going down the road. [sm=patriot.gif]

It's obvious the majority of people would prefer a solid front axle, but doesn't IFS have some advantage in certain situations? Specifically I am referring to desert trophy trucks, they all have IFS...must be for a reason?

A solid front axle seems good for crawling over rocks, etc...but what about flying across the desert at 80 mph? Here in So Cal I spend more time in the desert than on the trails, so which would really be better solid axle or IFS?

I'm no suspension expert so if anybody wants to chime in on this please do.

I do agree that coil overs would be nice..

Minor Annoyances of the H3:

Peeling ***** on radio
Front windshield wipers don't go fast enough even at the fastest speed
Rear windshield wipers don't wipe far enough & stop right before the driver's side
Leg room in rear seating...kinda a knees to chest experience
Awkward to get out of the car from the backseats
A/C turning on while air is on circulation
Weak horn
