Default Need help with identifying this part...

I have a 2006 H3 Its a silver finned something that looks like the right side is injured, from heat maybe?
Was wondering if this part could affect engine performance

I guess you could call it a "failure", but I prefer the term "learning experience".

Let me know if you need one. I've got one you can have. Works.

It is a coil on plug pack, and has to fire the spark plug fully and consistently every time the engine rotates a revolution.

So yes they can make idle rough and cause a miss which results in a loss of power and fuel economy.

Reading all the experiences here, almost anything can cause rough idle, also rough idle is like Hummer H3 hallmark.
If you will use search on this forum, you will have reading material for days of all possible reasons.

What does "looks like the right side is injured" means? That rusted spot there on epoxy?

yeah, but also indents like from heat, i guess these coil packs heat up quite a bit?
