Default On to my next issue sunroof very slow to open and stops

I have replaced the motor and switch to the sunroof due to water damage. I have never used this since I purchased the truck but after the parts were replaced I thought give it a try. It moved to the vent position without too much struggle, but when I tried to go to open the sunroof it closed the vent and tried to move back and that was it. After about 3 attempts it started to open but very slowly. It got about 1/4 of the way open and stopped. It did close but very slowly. Tried again this time went about 1/2 way and stopped. This time it would not close. After a minute or to it moved to close but moved only about 1/2 inch each time I pressed the button. I tried the relearn but I do not get any sound or anything as stated in instructions or videos. Any suggestions?

I tried the sunroof again tonight and it opened 3/4 and stopped. Still very slowly like it is struggling to move.

Hi Tom,
U r going to want to avoid opening again and again lol so as not to mess motor or mech up. Remove, drop headliner and you'll be able to figure out what is hanging up.

Yes the rails should be clean and lubricated with WLG. Like bronxteck was pointing out, remove any dried up grease/crud, then apply fresh.

Have you done the sunroof drain fix?

I have fixed all the drains, the front now go straight through the floor and I opened up the slit in the rear drains to allow more stuff to fit and drain out.

Remove the headliner, remove the sunroof assembly, disassemble the track from, the glass, remove old grease and debris from the track, relube track with WL grease. Reassemble and reinstall. Checking for proper adjustment between the H3 roof and the sunroof.
