Default Muffler Deleted LOL

Well, I got the sawsall out today and got rid of the muffler. Makes a noticable difference in sound. Have no idea about the performance aspect of it yet, will know more tomorrow after driving around more for work. Still have to get the extension pipes to take back out from under the truck though.

After:

Like I said, I will be putting a tailpipe on it. Stores were closed by the time I figured out that I forgot that. The whole time I kept thinking that I forgot something

Be careful. I have seen exhaust melt plastic bumpers and brake lights when the exhaust pipe was too short.

I know, the pic is a little deceiving. The pipe isn't as close as it looks. I cut right in front of the hanger there. I will be getting the pipe for it in the morning.

Is this the one you were talking about Impy? The top pic a better one than I posted for where it's cut. The end of the pipe is right where he is welding.

Here's a photo of my new exhaust system from under the truck. All you need to do is remove the mid-cabin resnator and put a new muffler in it's place, continue straight out the back and you're good to go.

Im not sure how an I5 with not muffler at all is going to sound very good???? I would like to hear it though. Alphadog I do like your set up for the exhaust. Im betting you get a much throughtier (sp?) tone out of that??? Personally I will not put an exhaust on my H2. I like the stock sound. It sounds great outside, most of my friends ask if I have an aftermarket exhaust when out side of the truck and they only believe it when they look undernieth to see its stock.

OK, so, 3Hummers was correct in his warning. Once I arrived at work this morning I got out and walked around the back of the truck and saw another one of those black plastic plugs that we were all looking for a few weeks ago laying on the bumber, all out of shape. Well, apparently it got pretty hot back there and melted the dang thing and it had fallen from the rear door sill. So, I added my tailpipe alitte sooner than planned. Was going to do it tonight when I got home but wondered if my taillights would make it home. LOL

New pipe welded in place:

View from back, clearance is still maintained:

I'm going to work on making my first video so that I can try and put a clip of the sound for everybody.
