I recently leveled my wife's 07 luxury and put 285 bfg at's on it and in town city mileage went from about 15.5 to 13.3. She used to get about 310 miles per tank now gets about 265-270. Kind of sucks, but like the look much better so would not go back.

I eventually want to do the airdoc (or the other mod with spectre (sp) that someone posted) and I hope that will help.

Anyone else getting as bad as 13?

I have leveled both my old 2006 and my new 2010. I keep the front a little lower then the back because I found the ride to harsh with the front over 23.5". I also changed my wheels and tires from the stock 265's to Chrome 285's. I did lose about 1 MPG even with factoring in the 5% larger tires.

ahhhh...forgot about that factor for the larger tires...so I am probably getting 14 or just a hair under.

I am going to have a hell of a time trying to explain this to my wife!!

The base 265 75 16 oem tires are 31.7" and rotate 660 revs per mile
the OEM 285 75 16 tires are 33" and rotate 630 revs per mile.

If your speedo is calibrated for the 265's then multiply your gas milege by 1.048 (I use 5% as its close enough) if you have 33" tires.

Jacking the front up will lower MPG, larger tires will also kill it even more.

Quick question, usually I've noticed in order to level the car they rise the front, what if try lowering the rear? Wouldn't it help mpg? Sorry if my question sounds stupid.

well, first, its a little easier to raise the front, some guys say it takes a wrench and 30 minutes, and zero disassembly. the back is a bit harder.

im guessin that front lower is more aerodynamic, kinda like a brick on wheels, with the one set smaller
actually the h is like a brick with a half brick on top,,,real smooth!!

Crap!! It's getting worse. The wife just texted me, 251.5 miles on 20.42 gallons = 12.31mpg. After conversion = 12.9mpg.

It would appear that leveling the front to 23 1/2 and going from 265's to 285's took away about 3 mpg.

I am currently at 49,283 miles and need an oil change so have to take it to the dealer anyway (free courtesy of GM, thanks GM), do you think it is worth mentioning to them? I can already hear their answer though, "Nope. Nuthin we can do it all has to do with the level and tires." Which is a great reason for them to not look at anything.

What do you think? I have never read anyone on this forum getting that bad of gas mileage.
