Default Manifold Catalytic Help in NY

Hi everyone, I've been searching this morning as much as i could, even called the asktheref California hotline for emissions help.... she was like your in NY?

2006 Hummer H3 3.7L 138kmiles
I am not finding a Catalytic converter (the one just off the manifold) that fits and is NY Compliant.
I found Magnaflow 5491306 for the 2007 and 2008. not certified for 2006.
I spoke with them they said no go for the 2006.

Would there be any suggestions?
Do I need to buy the manifold exhaust with the cat installed.. ? really didnt have the cash for it.
Is there a good but inexpensive one, that is NY approved?

Appreciate the help
Phil

I5s have two Cats: 1) in the Exhaust Manifold [mini cat]; and, 2) in the pipe leading to the pre-resonator/muffler flange.

No brainer if looking for #1 you buy the Exhaust Manifold that has Cat built in. If looking for the rear cat, buy the pipe that bolts between the Exhaust Manifold and pre-resonator flange. Why are you looking for one? They usually go more miles than where yours is now, lots more.

Good luck.

what issues are you having with the cat's at the moment? clogged? you might have to get the cats tuned out of your PCM using a custom tune then gut what is left if they are clogged until you can find the correct ones. as long as the IM monitors pass by not having error codes and visually everything looks normal it should pass emissions.

I tried to find the Cat alone couldn't in the New York approval.
Also having problems finding Exhaust Manifold with the Cat that is New York approved.
I emailed Walker too.

thanks guys appreciate it.

it is definitely clogged.and it is stock.

it is the Exhaust Manifold Cat that i need [mini cat].
i tried to find just the Cat - cause money is tight - but found nothing certified for New York emissions. Magnaflow had 5491306 but is isnt for the 2006 only 2007 and 2008.
i called Magnaflow and they said i would fail inspection.

i aslo can not find Exhaust Manifold that has Cat built in that is certified for New York emissions.
I did just email Walker.
trying to conserve cash but if i have to by the manifold and cat I'd prefer something not too costly.
If you have any recommendations even for the manifold w/the Cat built in -for New York emissions I'll take it.

TY!

2006 has the federal emissions label!
Oem 12571601
I recommend WALKER 16481
Or you can choose your own:>>> Catalytic Converter-EPA / Federal Compliant

are you sure you need cats? the price for scrap cats are through the roof. many shady shops are telling customers they need new ones to reap in the rewards on the older cats that have a higher density of precious metals. i told my shop i wanted my old ones back. they asked me why if they are garbage and i told them i needed it for the same reason they did (double dipping). scrapping my own paid for my entire muffler repair.
