Default Looking to buy a hummer

I'm new to this older car market but recently I've grown to like the looks of a hummer. Is it worth buying a hummer now with them all being older with 100k miles on them.

I MOVED this for you. Do NOT post anything else in the H3 FAQ section. Read before you post anything, like where it tells you NOT to post in the FAQ section.

Depends what you intend to do with it? They were built for Off Road so if you want a street queen, get a pickup truck or something else.

All of them are older, but not all have over 100K miles. 2006s have the 3.5L I5, the rest of the I5s 2007+ are 3.7L, makes a difference. 2008+ you can look for an Alpha w/ 5.3L V8.

Good luck.

well, my personal opinion.. if you want to buy H3, you have to be ready to spend some time with it when something go wrong and less $, or spent more $ with the mechanic (sometimes morronic one who has no f#$g clue and just changing parts and make you pay). no doubt that this truck is a good looker and there is not many of those on the streets (at least in my city of Montreal) i personally bought mine for 7K Canadians, put another 5K, to make it look like brand new, doing the work by myself- except the paint job (i payed the guy to paint it in my shop 2500$)- you can look up my older posts to see the work progress. i personally , extremely happy , but again, i do all the work by myself and save ****load of $. and this forum is a great source for the information when you stuck doing something, thanks to senior like doc olds or hummerz for instance..
good luck

Always good idea to account for repairs on a used older vehicle. However, on my Alpha T. The only thing that I've had to replace are the brake light bulbs, air filter, battery and a CV axle. Maybe I'm one of the few, but I honestly haven't had to replace much on my H3T.

Yes, you too will be this happy if you get a Hummer!

Welcome,

I'm going to be the voice of decent. Lol!
No I'd recommend that a different vehicle be purchased because inevitably it really comes down to your scope and knowledge of repair and maintenance. If you are a garage monkey than hats off. Alas, most folks are not and it will cost a fortune to maintain. Besides, if you buy a nice one then that's less for us. Bwwwwwaaaaaahhhhhh!

Today in Dallas, record cold. The H3 took me to work and home easily. It's really nice driving a vehicle that maneuvers thru snow, ice and slick roads with confidence - Not speeding along, but just making the trip with ease. That's why I own a 15 year old, 115,000 mile H3.

Agree, I purchased a 2007 with 57,000 miles and today its -27 wind chill with 4" of snow. The H3 AWD is awesome in these conditions. My only wish though not able to accomplish is to upgrade the exhaust for a beefy sound.
