Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
Has anyone ever come up with a solution for the 7 minute key fob lockout? I own 2 2007 hummer H3 one stock yellow (my wife) and one custom red upgraded stereo alpine touch screen and JLG amp (1200 watts JL audio 4x4 12"×12" sub), wheels and tires(35" toyos), bilstien shocks, 10k milemarker winch, custom roof rack with hi-lift jack and fishing rod holder, k&N air, Optima red top, full magnaflow SS system including header, and all protected inside with weathertech
mats.
This lock out is a very common problem that GM won't acknowledge but both my H3's and I've read it countless times on here. My battery terminals are upgraded to accommodate my sound system and winch. No issues except with winch and a single optima red top the truck has to remain running. But stereo doesn't phase the battery.
So you are talking about a PassLock issue caused by dirty ignition switch contacts, faulty switch, etc.... Some people go all out with a PassLock delete or bypass module, but usually two screws and a electrical contact cleaner spray.
Sorry, not into conspiracy theories. Never had the problem with my H3s.
Yeah, I was blurring threads together after reading a bunch, forget my battery drain thing ...my bad, and good job on the aftermarket terminal connectors.
Yea I realized that lol I'm older and don't really want to argue with anyone. Both my H3's have this problem and both are owned by me since new. Problem started happening immediately when I bought trucks dealer claim to fix it. And for awhile it was gone till my warranties ran out. I figured it was an electrical connection. Being an industrial electrician for 35 years I kinda put 2&2 together just didn't know where to start. I'm not about to do a delete kit on my H3's. I'd rather have a solution. It's funny everyone in forum says it's a 10 minutes wait till truck clears. Mine our both exactly 7 minutes and they will start every time.

Do you realize the age of the vehicle? My advice; go to the connector to the ignition switch(same for any connectors on a 14yr old vehicle), prepared:
Do you read? They have done this since new and I've been an high voltage industrial union electrician 30+ years of course I know of contact clean that stuff is junk we would never use that garbage for a clean connection de- natured alcohol is the only thing that truly works. My point was where is connection? Both trucks since new have had countless keys made and countless ignitions changed so the age of vehicles are irrelevant. The parts are new. And problem still persists.

I've only had to clean that connector 2x on my '07. The best part, still starts and runs like new.
