Default Key lock. - sorry for all the posts

Sorry for all the posts. I just got this hummer so want to get this working. Id say 50% of the time I try to take out the key out of the ignition the key gets stuck. I have to push on the breaks and more the throttle around to get the key to come out. Am I dong something wrong? Any special trick to getting the key out? If not what can be the problem.

Depress the BRAKE pedal, Shift to PARK, rotate the ignition lock cylinder to lock, REMOVE the key.

that’s works thank you. Is this what I have to do each time? Is this something I need to get fixed or just something I have to get used to like the seat warmer. lol.

the key or your cylinder may be wearing out.

Try cleaning your key with a good lube (like Blaster Multi Purpose) and wipe it clean with a cloth. Apply a small amount to the key after clean, insert in ignition, remove and wipe clean, repeat until no grime is on the cleaning cloth. See if that helps.

Default Key still stuck

I’ve tried cleaning the key, replacing the key and took the H3 to a car lock smith who said it wasn’t the cylinder. The lock smith guy thinks the key is stuck either because the battery is low or there is something wrong with the gears and it not going into park properly. Not sure what it could be at this point? Any advice would be appreciated.

There's a connector on the ignition lock cylinder housing with a pin inside. The signal is transferred from the PRNDL SWITCH
to release the ignition key, in the PARK position. CLEAN THE CONNECTOR(S)!

The cleaning the key thing is easy and was to rule out mechanical issues. Easy stuff first. Second, per hummerz. clean the switch connections.

I cleaned the connector as advised and lubed the shifter cable. Key is coming out like butter. Thanks for the advice.

Doc Olds,
Just reading various posts.
A. Is this posting thread too old for my reply?
B. The post above your post contains an excellent photo posted by Hummerz...where did he get that excellent photo (image)?
Anyway, I am impressed with the responses and the quality of the information!
Thanks again! Golden Hurricane
