I am happy to report the oem tires suck. Bad.
Did a little off roading after work with my co-worker. By off roading I mean I picked up my cellphone, called my co-worker right down the street and said "Hey, I'm sitting in the middle of that field near my house in mud up to my doors, you want to come pull me out?"
At the end of my street is a huge massive field with tall grass, reeds, and a couple trees here and there. It pretty much turns into a swamp when it rains even a little bit, and its been down pouring all day long heavily.
I'm ashamed to admit I got stuck and had be yanked out with my tow straps, by a jeep nonetheless but it was great fun and I don't mind playing with a jeep. I sunk in so deep the mud was up to my door panels, it was hilarious. Just wait until I get my open country mt's and we'll see who's getting stuck then.
The one thing that did make me a feel a little better was watching him stall his jeep out three times trying to make it back to me. He just got it and has never offroaded a manual before.
That being said, what kind of options do I have to mount a winch? The winch bumpers are a little more than I want to spent, doesn't anyone make a bracket that goes behind the tow hooks and brush guard?

Yep, here's an excellent winch mount

By the way, you are on street tires (265s are NOT mud tires or even ATs) and you don't have a locker. Your buddy has a Rubicon which comes with MTs, front and rear lockers from the factory. You can put up to a 35" without lifting anything. He can only get a 33" then he has to buy a lift kit to go any larger.
X2, best mount for the money!

Why put rice rubber on your 3 when excellent American made tires are available????
I don't mean some foreign crud made in a plant here, I mean American companies employing real live american workers.

My biggest concern is life, then wet/snow performance, then offroad, and finally road noise in that order.
I was mainly wanting Open Country M/T's because of my experience with them getting exceptional mileage for a mud tire....
I just don't to have to replace $1,200 worth of tires every 20k miles. (cough procomp cough)

Thanks for the pic! This seems to be my best option at this point since I didn't go with the winch brush guard, and the only winch bumper I like the looks of doesn't seem to be in production anymore.
Hope this helps!
First set of 315 MTZs 52K+ on them and sold them for $250 still had 1/4 tread.
Second set 315 MTZs about 30K on them and still have about 1/2 tread.
Rrgular rotations and a lifetime alignment is the key to tire longitivity!
Buddy has the Cooper STTs and got over 60K on his before he replaced his.
Both tires are built with the same carcass just a little different tread and sidewalls.

The better the tires, the better the system works too!
