Out of curiosity, I went to Lakeland Gear http://www.lakelandgear.com/Camp_Rig...ruck_tent.aspx to see if their CampRight tents would fit the H3T.

Their truck tent sizing guide http://www.lakelandgear.com/truck_tent_size_grid.aspx does not list the H3T under "Mid Size Short Bed Trucks (60-65")" or under "No Tents Available for These Models-Sorry!!". So I called their toll free number.

I was quickly told that truck tents would not fit on an SUV, so I explained to the receptionist that Hummer actually made a pickup truck version of the H3 and it was called an H3T. Then she put me on hold and after a slight delay she said their tents would not fit because the H3T bed was too wide for their tent.

Did it occur to anyone to consider the box measurements? I'll go out on a limb here and suggest the GM Truck Tent for the Chevy Colorado 5'. At most, the width will be tighter by a mere 2".

I contacted Napier Enterprised who make the Sportz tent and game them my dimension and told them it was similar to the Chevy Colorado. This is the response I got back:
"Thank you for the measurements. Unfortunately we do not make a Truck tent that would fit your vehicle, and we will add that vehicle to our list of non-applicable vehicles. Hope you have an awesome day!!"

That was a lousy response. May have something to do with the tall sidewalls but you would think they would be more interested in selling product.

Here's Plan B: a mattress built specifically for the H3T.

Add either the soft top or jerry-rig a tarp and you're in business.

I'd like to see a tent made to attach to the SlantBack when it is open and cover the tailgate, but I'd still need to move all my gear.

I'm starting to wonder is the roof top tent will work on my H3T because of the sun roof. The owners manual says something about rail stops to protect the sun roof. Need to look into that concern.

Just get the off-road trailer. Lots of problems solved. Wife will be happier too.
